Cook this recipe in 6 simple steps

1. Prepare the vegetables

Peel the turnip and potatoes and cut both in cubes of 1cm. Peel the garlic and slice thinly. Brush the mushrooms and slice.

2. Prepare the mashed potatoes

Add the turnip and potatoes to a medium pot. Fill with water just enough to cover the veggies. Add the bay leaf and 1 tsp salt. Cook the veggies for about 10 min. Drain, remove the bay leaf and mash. Add pepper and salt to your liking.

3. Cook the mushrooms

Meanwhile, heat a large skillet with 1 tablespoon of olive oil. Add garlic and and cook for approx. 30 seconds. Add mushrooms and sauté until mushrooms are browned, 5 minutes. Add the balsamic vinegar. Add salt and pepper to your liking and reduce the heating until serving.

4. Cook the fillet

Meanwhile, heat 2 teaspoons oil in a medium skillet over medium-high. Pat fillet dry and season all over with 1 teaspoon salt and lots of pepper. Cook, turning once, until deeply browned, 5–6 minutes per side.

5. Cut the fillet

Transfer fillet to a board to rest for 5 min. Remove skillet from heat. Cut the fillet in slices.

6. Serve the meal

Serve the mash on plates and add the fillet and mushrooms. Enjoy!
